The Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards recognize innovative projects in the telecommunications industry worldwide. These awards were established in 2007 and annually distinguish communications service providers and their technology suppliers.
FPT IS and MaxBill have won in the Business Service Innovation category for their implementation of the MaxBill solution for Lao Telecommunications Company (LTC), the incumbent telecommunications service provider in Laos PDR. The company provides fixed-line, mobile and Internet services to a growing customer base of over 3.5 million subscribers and is the only communications service provider to provide full nationwide network coverage.
In response to the gradual appearance of competitive alternatives available to its customers, LTC took the strategic decision to make holistic changes to its billing, service delivery and customer care operation. With the objective of streamlining business processes for its multiple service operation and improving the attractiveness of its services, LTC selected FPT IS to implement the MaxBill solution after an intense selection process that included a fully integrated proof-of-concept trial.
