The iGB team had announced the decision to launch the shows in the summer of 2021 when it will be safer for attendees, exhibitors and sponsors to get to the event. Although regrettable, this move is nothing unexpected, taking the current situation with the COVID19 pandemic into account. The number of cases is growing already and is predicted to become even higher in the fall and winter months. That’s why many European governments are imposing stricter rules for travel inside and outside the region.
“With measures that are beyond our control, we feel a postponement is a right thing to do, as we cannot guarantee that delegates, exhibitors and sponsors will be able to get to the event safely,” group event director Naomi Barton explained.
This means, that iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate Amsterdam will now take place at the RAI in Amsterdam from 13 to 16 July next year. Hopefully, by that time, there will be fewer health safety concerns and the Dutch igaming market will reopen for business once again.
Barton also added that the organizers are shifting the focus to the online format instead.
More details on the new initiative, the iGB Network, are to be announced later. In the meanwhile, The iGB Live! online platform will remain open to users as a networking and content resource, with a free registration via the iGB Live! site.
